UNICEF UK: Infosheet on the Provision of Formula for Families Experiencing Food Insecurity

In October 2022, UNICEF UK updated their 2020 Infosheet. The new guidance added some additional context to their recommendations but retained the recommendation that

Food banks do not accept or distribute donations of infant formula for babies

The guidance encourages Local Authorities to develop emergency formula provision pathways, which we showed in our 2020 review of formula access pathways were few and far between.

This 2022 Infosheet was supplemented with the Guidance for Local Authorities and Health Boards on supporting families with infants under 12 months experiencing food insecurity.
